This handcrafted HO wooden bridge is custom built from Rio Grande Southern narrow gauge plans and photos. Bridges of this type were used on the RGS to cross the streams and rivers of Colorado’s high country. This bridge is a great replacement for your non-prototypical 9in (65ft scale) Atlas plastic bridge. Intended for late 1800’s and early 1900’s use, it could also be prototypically correct on a branchline well into the 1950’s. This design is similar to those used by the DRG and DSP&P. This bridge is designed to fit HOn3 Narrow Gauge engines and small standard gauge engines. The internal clearance of this bridge is 2.75in H (70 mm) and 1.8in W (45 mm).
Constructed from scale basswood lumber and featuring Grandt Line nut castings. The trestle measures approximately 9.3in L x 2.8in W (top), 3.5in H. Scale length is 67 feet long and 24 feet high. The wood is weathered gray, and ‘Iron’ parts are weathered as if rusted.
